Bourjois So Laque

I purchased 3 new nail polishes from Bourjois, two of the So Laque Glossy nail polishes and one So Laque Ultra Shine. They all wear and layer up differently so I'll go through them individually!

09 Ciel Mon Vernis

This a beautiful pastel shade which is perfect for the Sumer months! It's a nice cool mint colour which I love!

So onto how it applies...

One coat is very transparent:

It goes on quite streaky with one coat but when you layer it up the streaks disappear. The polish itself layers well on top of one another and there's no drag when putting on additional coats (this is when you give the polish time to dry between the coats)

It takes three coats to look opaque:

After three coats the shade actually matches exactly to what's in the bottle. I put this on when I have time to invest in doing a nice manicure as I like to wait twenty minutes between each coat. I find this is the best way to apply it because when I do three coats in quick succession it takes ages for it to dry!

As for the staying power it claims to last up to ten days - on me it lasted two and then began to chip. This was even when I applied a base coat although saying that nail polish never really lasts too well on my nails so that's pretty good considering!

15 Peace and Mauve

This is a beautiful lilac pastel shade and again with one coat it is very transparent, this is less streaky with one coat than the Ciel Mon Vernis and you could wear one coat for a subtle wash of colour on the nail.

After two coats it reaches a nice colour:

I reckon with an additional layer this would reach a good level of opaqueness like the Ciel Mon Vernis!

The wear of peace and Mauve didn't chip until day three when I actually went out fishing so it could've lasted longer!

I love the brushes on the polish it's thick enough to coat most of the nail without being too thick so that you loose that precision! The fibers are flexible and all one length so you get a uniform amount of colour applied to the nail.

Bleu Asphalte

I have been looking for a perfect navy shade for my nails for the longest time. Every colour seemed to either be too dark and look black or either be too blue, this colour by bourjois nails it (excuse the pun) and actually looks a decent shade of navy on the nails!

With one coat it reaches a good level of opaqueness and I would wear it with one coat if I didn't have the time to do a second layer. Although with two coats it reaches a deeper shade of navy.

Two coats:

This again was easy to apply and layer up and it lasted three days without chipping. I reckon this will be a gorgeous shade for winter so I think I'll save it for then and focus on the pastels for the remaining summer months!

On the whole a not to bad polish produced by Bourjois! I want to try their one second range but need to read some reviews first!
